Mobile Device Management

Firefense Specialised Mobile Device Management is a dedicated Android device management and control platform that is designed to work without Internet connectivity, making it ideal for highly secure sites.

Key MDM Features

Normal MDM needs Internet connection to work – which can be a source of great pain for your enterprise security team. Firefense MDM for Android devices does not need the Internet and allows custom integration with your existing enterprise systems for enhanced decision-making.

No Internet

Firefense MDM for Android devices works without needing Internet i.e. the server and none of the managed devices need to be connected to the Internet. We allow our clients to control their Android devices connected over a private local network in a secured site or facility.

On-prem Deployment

Firefense MDM can be deployed on-premises on private IT infrastructure and resources fully owned and managed by the client. This self-hosted deployment compliments the ‘No Internet’ feature to give clients the assurance that no data will ever leave the client’s premises and control.

Android-centric

Manage any devices running standard Android OS – from mobile phones to devices such as mobile ABIS (Automated Biometric Identification System), portable rugged barcode scanners, smart door / access controllers, terminals or Android-based edge and IoT devices.

Customisations We Have Done

Custom Centralised
Device Login

Currently, managed devices still rely on a person’s biometric or password for login and these credentials are stored locally. We can implement a centralised user login and management using facial ID or even integrates with SSO such as Windows login.

Client can now control and authorised which users are allowed to use the managed devices.

Hidden Multi-User

Android allows for multi-user mode where each user can have a separate list of installed apps (including a distinct version of the same app for each user), contact list and messages. We can hide any additional user created and enable access to the hidden user via customised mechanism.

Humane Implementation

Other MDMs persists a restriction policy once it is applied e.g. disable camera persists even when the user is not at work or after office hours. We allow a user to trigger a restriction only when required and our backend rule-based decision-making engine will ensure the right policy is always in place.

Firefense MDM can perform functions found in a typical MDM, including the capability to disable camera use, debug mode, USB data transfer, app installation and to initiate remote wipe.
